About Wise Zebra

A Michigan math & STEM academy built around careful practice and strong reasoning.

Wise Zebra Michigan Academy is based in Okemos, Michigan and focuses on strong math foundations, advanced problem solving, structured practice, and coding programs in development.

Mission

We want students to feel capable when facing hard problems.

Our goal is to help children build real skill, not just short-term performance. Students learn to practice carefully, notice structure, explain their thinking, and recover from mistakes with better strategy. Over time, that kind of work can build confidence that is useful far beyond one class or one contest.

Our team

A small team combining advanced math coaching, coding education, student-centered teaching, and program technology.

Families work with a team that cares about both academic challenge and the student's learning experience. We want students to understand the logic behind their work, not simply chase answers.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is built for steady growth and deeper reasoning.

Wise Zebra lessons are developed around careful sequencing, meaningful practice, and clear explanation. Readiness, class goals, and student work help guide placement and instruction.

How Wise Zebra teaches

Students practice independently, then correct carefully.

  1. 01

    Students work independently first

We want students to attempt problems before receiving help, so instruction starts from real evidence.

  2. 02

    Mistakes are corrected carefully

Missed problems are reviewed so students can understand the reasoning, not just the answer.

  3. 03

    Placement is readiness-based

Students are placed by readiness, not only school grade, so the starting point is more appropriate.

  4. 04

Advanced students receive more challenging work

Students who are ready work on multi-step reasoning, written solutions, and competition-style habits.
