Wise Zebra Math Check

A short math readiness check for K-6 students.

Students receive an immediate readiness result and a review of the questions they answered. Families may then contact Wise Zebra for practice or placement guidance.

What Math Check is

A simple starting-point tool for K-6 students.

Math Check helps a student demonstrate which skills they can use independently and which skills may need more practice.

During and after Math Check

01

Student completes the check

The student works independently so the result reflects their own readiness.

02

Student receives a result

The check shows an immediate readiness result and a review of the questions they answered.

03

Family chooses whether to follow up

Families may contact Wise Zebra for practice, placement, or course information.

Using the result

Use the readiness result to decide what to explore next.

Course readiness

Families may ask whether a current course is an appropriate option for the student.

Practice first

Families may ask about 1-Hour WZ Math Practice when the result shows skills that need more work.

What Math Check does not provide

Math Check is not a school grade or a full written diagnostic evaluation.

Readiness framework

How Wise Zebra interprets readiness

Wise Zebra uses a 16-level foundation framework, WZ00-WZ15, to organize foundational math skills and help interpret Math Check results, recent math work, and readiness for practice or courses. Families receive practical guidance about an appropriate starting point; the detailed level definitions are used internally for instruction, practice, and placement.

How students should take it

The goal is readiness guidance, not a school grade.

Missed questions are useful. They help families see which skills may need more practice before discussing placement or a current course.

Students should work independently Parents should not coach during the check It is okay if a student misses questions The result can support placement and practice planning

After Math Check

Use the result to choose practice, placement, or a current course.

Some students are ready for Prealgebra or Introduction to Algebra. Others benefit from level-matched practice first. Math Check gives families a clearer starting point before requesting program or placement information.
