Current math courses

August math options for stronger foundations and clearer problem-solving habits.

Students do not need to be advanced or experienced in math competitions. Grade is a general guide, and final course fit is based on readiness.

PREALGEBRA FOUNDATION

Prealgebra

Build prealgebra foundations through multi-step word problems, fractions, number patterns, organized written work, and an introduction to competition-style reasoning.

Good fit

Designed for students in grades 4–7 who are ready to build or strengthen prealgebra foundations, including younger students ready for added challenge and older students reviewing key skills before algebra.

Prerequisites and learning focus

Prerequisites

Comfort with multiplication and division is helpful. Students should be ready to work on fractions, multi-step word problems, and clear written reasoning. Final placement is based on a readiness review.

Build the bridge from prealgebra into equations, expressions, number structure, and algebraic problem solving.

Designed for students in grades 5–8 who have some prealgebra readiness and want to begin algebra foundations or review key skills before moving into deeper algebra.

Prerequisites

Students should be comfortable with fraction and decimal operations, multi-step problem solving, and independent work. If more preparation is needed, WZ Math Practice may be recommended first.
